RACERS

This page alone, including any links to forms, is the single authority for information for race events held by Jet Sport West Boating Association in conjuction with AJSBA.
Please read it carefully.
There are new conditions relating to tech skis, AJSBA rules, and a special request for volunteers

Questions about race rules? Please ask AJSBA here:

To race in any racers all riders must:

1) Have a valid racing license with AJSBA

2 Complete any medical forms*** required by AJSBA
***All forms are supposed to be emailed directly to ASJBA. Jet Sport West is not authorized to process your medical information.
It is the racers responsibility to check with AJSBA about the preparation and completeness of the race forms including racer's choice and designation of class and or craft. Jet Sport West cannot answer AJSBA compliance questions for racers. Please visit AJSBA for any questions.

All racers in the Amateur and Beginner classes only need to fill out Section 1-3 of the medical certificate form and they can SELF-CERTIFY. They do NOT need the form to be signed by a medical examiner however they are encouraged to fully explore and check their own personal health before PWC racing of any kind.

All racers in the Pro and Expert classes MUST fill all sections 1-5 and have these signed by the appropriate medical professionals

The AJSBA recommend that all riders have ambulance cover and PWC Insurance.
The AJSBA have a Drug and Alcohol Policy. By competing you agree to participate in testing if required at any time.

TECH SKIS

At the conclusion of the races the Race Directors will have either specifically or randomly picked one or more skis from a single class for tech inspection.
If your ski is selected for tech inspection you will be required to move it to the designated area where it is to be parked with the hood seal on and locked.
The tech inspector has the right to immediately seal the hood with security tape to ensure any skis marked for tech inspection are not removed prior to tech inspection.
If your ski is selected for tech inspection and you refuse, or your leave early, any points or podium winnings on that day will be erased. There will be no refunds on race day for any reason.
The tech inspector will check any or all of the selected skis for non-compliance. Any non-compliant items of any kind will be reported to AJSBA.
AJSBA has the exclusive right to cancel any racers AJSBA membership for the season and in some cases a lifetime ban.
Racing is a serious endeavor and riders put there whole physical and mental effort into it. Cheating means everyone loses.

TROPHIES

Trohpies and or Certificates will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each class. Podium awards may start before, during, or after Tech Skis. If for some reason a rider is awarded a podium and point finish, and their ski fails tech compliance, an announcement will be made rescinding the offending rider and making the next finisher move up.

BBQ

The Committee will do its best to prepare for and provide a BBQ of snags and side fixings as much as possible. As mentioned previously, we are short staffed at the Committee and we are seeking volunteers.

VOLUNTEERS AND THE NEED FOR PAID SERVICES

Traditionally, the Club and Racers have worked hand in hand to ensure there is a volunteer for every role to ensure each race has full staff and safety personnell on site to assist the racers. This year our committee is short staffed. We recently called out to the racers for volunteers. Some have stepped up and met the challenge - thank you to these ladies and gentleman. However, we have also received answers from others being unable to volunteer. If we have insufficient volunteers for race day the Club will have to expend resources to hire them. So, we need all the volunteering help you can provide. We have a volunteer roster form. If you are able to volunteer on race day I am sure all racers would appreciate it. If we have insufficient volunteers the RACE MAY BE CANCELLED. Please email us here if you are able to volunteer.

Cheers and good luck.
